Speaker FAQs

Thank You for Participating in HomeCareCon! We Truly Value Your Support and Hope You Find the Experience Both Enjoyable and Rewarding

HCAF has provided a list of important dates and deadlines for speakers to follow, ensuring we stay on schedule. For details on our deadlines, please refer to the customized speaker deadline Google Sheet or workbook linked in your confirmation email. While we encourage speakers to use these resources, if you encounter any difficulties, we’re happy to assist in updating these forms on your behalf.

Attendance at HomeCareCon has steadily increased year by year. Last year, we hosted 630 attendees, and as in-person events continue to resume, we aim to return to our usual 700 attendees. Our audience represents a diverse range of organizational structures and sizes, including large, vertically integrated systems, hospital-based agencies, chains, and freestanding organizations. These entities range from for-profit to not-for-profit, urban to rural, and are reimbursed by a variety of payer sources including Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, and private pay. Most attendees hold degrees in nursing, therapy, business, health services administration, or related fields.

This year’s theme is The Next Frontier for Home Care: Charting the Course for Innovation, Quality, and Care. Workshops and sessions should be presented optimistically yet realistically. We expect and request that sessions avoid spending substantial time on overviews, as we assume attendees are already familiar with recent changes and the specific topic. Attendees are eager to learn successful strategies, available resources, and tools for implementation or improvement.

Please keep the following in mind:

  • Minimize time spent on overviews; assume the audience is well-versed in the topic.
  • Present optimistically but realistically.
  • Provide insights into current industry trends and changes.
  • Discuss promising strategies, tools, resources, and best practices for success and growth.
  • Demonstrate innovative ideas and solutions that can be implemented or improved immediately.
  • Whenever possible, use references and examples related to home care, and avoid mentioning “hospice” unless absolutely necessary.
  • Include benchmarking data where possible to enhance your presentation.
  • Let’s bring this year’s theme to life together!

As a not-for-profit organization, HCAF is unable to offer financial compensation for speaking engagements. However, we are pleased to provide each presenter with one complimentary conference registration, including food, beverage breaks, and meals during the day. Please note that complimentary registrations cannot be substituted.

Please complete the online registration form by April 15, 2025. Indicating your availability will help us finalize catering, seating, and handout preparations.

Each presentation room will be equipped with a laptop, LCD projector, screen, lavalier microphone, podium microphone, podium, and a remote control for advancing slides. If you require additional equipment or do not plan to use the provided resources, please indicate this on your customized speaker Google Sheet.

We encourage you to spread the word about your upcoming presentation on your website and social media platforms using the hashtag #HomeCareCon. Your efforts to help promote the event are greatly appreciated!
