Denise Bellville

Denise Bellville, RN, BS, is the Executive Director of the Home Care Association of Florida (HCAF). She has been a registered nurse for 45 years, with experience in critical care, emergency care, the open-heart surgical intensive care unit (SICU), and the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) before transitioning to the home care industry, where she has served in executive roles for more than 30 years.

Her clinical experience in home care includes pediatric and adult ventilator cases, infusion therapy, and in-home peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) line placements. She is especially passionate about educating elderly patients to help them reach their full potential and remain safely at home.

“I knew I wanted to be a nurse since I was five years old. The only thing I asked for that Christmas was a nurse’s bag, and once I found it, I told my parents to have Santa take everything else back. My first introduction to home care was a pediatric ventilator case. The hospital asked if I could get her home, settled, and teach the family what they needed to know. I ended up staying for two years. My love of nursing has allowed me to enter a stranger’s home and leave as a friend. Even after all these years, those friendships continue, and I’m still invited to family gatherings. It has been a career that has truly lasted a lifetime.”
